MHS Sports Hall of Fame: Class of 2009

This was the 3rd annual class of inductees for the McMinnville High School Sports Hall of Fame, for which Andrew Murga Productions produced all of the videos.

The 1979 Varsity Boys Basketball Team was the only MHS basketball team to ever win the state title, and one of the only undefeated teams in Oregon’s history.

Lisa Macy was one of the best tennis and basketball players MHS ever had, who achieved multiple awards and League Titles, before playing basketball for Oregon State University and coaching tennis for Linfield College.

Lance Rice was an excellent three-sport athlete and an all-time baseball great at MHS, who had a tremendous college and pro career.

Gary Squires was an All-American, State Champion, and swimming legend at MHS, before swimming for the Princeton Tigers.

Jeff Stuebing was a State Champ at MHS, before wrestling for the University of Oregon, several Olympic Teams and Professionally.

Perry Stubberfield was a great athlete, teacher, coach, administrator, and person, who dedicated his life to Oregon school’s athletics.

Don Porter was a MHS basketball legend, who made a huge impact on three different college teams before being drafted into the NBA and US Army.

Margrett Kopf was one of Oregon’s most influential teachers and coaches, who advanced women’s sports in the public schools system for 40 years.
